Silk Care Guide
A little care helps preserve silk's beauty for years.
Cleaning
- Professional dry cleaning is the safest default for structured Reshaam garments and pieces carrying a dry-clean-only instruction.
- Always follow the care label attached to the individual garment.
- Do not use bleach or harsh stain removers.
- Treat stains promptly, but avoid vigorous rubbing.
Ironing & Steaming
- Use a low-temperature silk setting when ironing.
- Iron on the reverse side where possible.
- A clean pressing cloth between the iron and silk provides additional protection.
- Gentle steaming can help release creases; avoid holding a steamer extremely close to the fabric.
Storage
- Store clean and completely dry.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to reduce the risk of fading.
- Use breathable garment storage rather than sealing silk in plastic for long periods.
- Hang structured garments on suitable hangers; fold delicate pieces when hanging may distort their shape.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, deodorant and other alcohol-based products.
Please remember that care requirements can differ according to construction, lining, trims and fabric treatment. The garment care label should always take precedence over general guidance.
